چکیده
Back ground: Split thickness grafting is a routinely done procedure in treatment of burn and coverage other wounds. These patients require management both donor site grafted area. Donor wound may be more painful distressing as compared to the patient´s skin area there additional scarring. Different types dressing are used for healing SSG Aim: To compare conventional Suprathel at terms total consumption analgesic medication duration healing. Methods: Randomized control trial was conducted Department Plastic Reconstructive Surgery/ Burn unit Mayo Hospital over period 1 year (Dec 20 – Dec 21). A 64 were included. They divided into 2 groups, Group (32) treated with paraffin medicated gauze B on graft site. Patients pain score calculated using NVAS (Numeric visual analogue score) time recorded groups. Results: Total included study 32 each group. There 35(54.7%) males 29(45.3%) females. Pain was: ≤ 5 11 (34.4%) ≥ 21(65.5%). In B≤ 22 (68.85%) ≥5 10(31.2%). Comparison of Three Different Methods of Dressing for Partial Thickness Skin Graft Donor Site
BACKGROUND Split- thickness skin graft is one of the most common operations in plastic surgery. It is always painful and patient discomfort from donor site often is more significant than recipient site. There is not still a standard method for treatment of the donor site. The purpose of this study was to determine the best method of dressing the donor site among three different methods with re...
متن کاملEvaluation of Human Amniotic Membrane as a Wound Dressing for Split-Thickness Skin-Graft Donor Sites
Human amniotic membrane (HAM) has been used as a biomaterial in various surgical procedures and exceeds some qualities of common materials. We evaluated HAM as wound dressing for split-thickness skin-graft (STSG) donor sites in a swine model (Part A) and a clinical trial (Part B). Part A: STSG donor sites in 4 piglets were treated with HAM or a clinically used conventional polyurethane (PU) foi...
متن کاملNanofibrillar cellulose wound dressing in skin graft donor site treatment.
BACKGROUND Although new therapeutic approaches for burn treatment have made progress, there is still need for better methods to enhance wound healing and recovery especially in severely burned patients. Nanofibrillar cellulose (NFC) has gained attention due to its renewable nature, good biocompatibility and excellent physical properties that are of importance for a range of applications in phar...
متن کاملImproved Healing of Split Thickness Skin Graft Donor Sites
Cosmetically unacceptable pigmentation changes and hypertrophic scarring often complicate split thickness skin graft (STSG) donor sites. In fact, patients often ask about other alternatives when confronted with the need to harvest STSG, particularly because they fear additional disfigurement. Because recent evidence suggests that a moist environment promotes more optimal healing, we conducted a...
متن کاملEvaluation of Six Split-thickness Skin Graft Donor-site Dressing Materials in a Swine Model
BACKGROUND Numerous dressings for split-thickness skin graft donor sites are commercially available with no conclusive evidence-based consensus regarding the optimal dressing choice. This study was conducted to identify which of 5 commonly used materials promotes wound healing most effectively for use on split-thickness donor sites in comparison with our standard dressing, Xeroform (petrolatum ...
